One year ago this morning, this little kitty was fighting for her life.

It was a long, hard battle, went on for months.

Behind my back yard is a strip of land, part of the Alaska Rail Road right of way.  Its often used as a dumping ground by the people who would rather grill and eat Woodsy Owl than carry their garbage home.

Every now and then, I head up to it to see what new has been tossed.  Usually its just beer bottles, big gulp cups, occasionally a half empty bottle of some rot gut booze that only a 19 year old would buy.

This was new today, never seen anything like this before.

And it made me think, “John McCain, maybe its not too late? You’re still within the 72 hour window, eh?”

Hurry John, time is running out.

This short German movie is called “Das Rad” (the wheel). It seems the English title is Rocks, but that really doesn’t do it, imho. It takes a minute to grasp what’s going on.

It’s lovely. And reminds us in a humorous way of our irrelevance.

Thursday evening, a mother and two children were shot and killed, two more children wounded at a roadblock in Afghanistan. Details are still vague, but so far it seems two cars were stopped when the fisrt one pulled out again. Security forces opened fire on the car. The roadblock was staffed by German and Afghan soldiers. It’s almost sure the bullets were fired by the Germans.

Parliament members in Germany are crying out loud to withdraw completely, as by now every Afghan civilian is seen as a suspect, and the Afghan people only look fear the foreign troops.

Nice. Let’s win over some more Afghan people.

Here is a snapshot of an online IRC chat that Ed Hale, you may remember him as the Fraud, had today on his web.   He’s not just a fraud, he’s a out and out bigoted son of a bitch.

Right in the middle, tobyP asks if Ed really made a comment on his show.  The skank JudyAnn denies it, but then Ed over rides her and repeats it, in fact embellishes it.
